Miscellaneous Thoughts

Homestretch

A few weeks ago, blog post number four was due and included in this was three driving questions for our project. If you didn't get a chance to read it yet or just need a recap, I've posted them below.

1) Who would we have to talk to in order to get permission to place the mural in the school or if all else fails, in Mr. Heidt's room?

2) Will the elementary schools be able to participate in the bottle cap collection and if so, how could we get them involved?

3) In what way can we maximize the amount of bottle caps collected in a short amount of time?

I believe these questions are still prominent in the process of finishing our project however, we've answered a few of them already. This past week we've obtained the forms needed for a mural proposal in the school. That checks off question number one because there's a mural committee that meets once a month to discuss possible new mural placement in the school. Also, we received responses from EVERY school in the district including the elementary schools which seem very eager to get involved. The one issue we have is the timing of everything. In order for the proposal to get done, we need to have an idea of how many bottle caps we have available but in order to collect the bottle caps, we need to make sure that we are allowed to construct the mural in the first place.

Coming up, our plan is to make/organize the collection bins over spring break that way they are available immediately after spring break to start the collection process. Big things are coming...
